Breakout 1 | Why Business Travel compliance matters

Monday March 16, 2026 16:00 - 16:30 CET Breakout session - Bergen 1

Dinner & Award Sponsor: Vialto Partners

The session would set out to give a short overview of which areas business travel compliance relate to. Thereafter we would go deeper into the immigration and PWD aspects, focusing on recent developments (e.g. how the EU exit/entry data system gives the authorities a new level of access to data and how we see that this impacts the risks and expectations on business travel compliance.

We will round up with linking compliance to safety aspects; the importance of tracking business travel for compliance is also helpful from a security perspective (there is a need to know where your people are so that you can take action in a crisis situation).

We envision that some of the key takeaways from the session would be: - Business travel compliance includes a mixture of various elements, with immigration and PWD often taking priority - The authorities are getting smarter (they have better oversight thanks to better data), which we expect to lead to increased monitoring -> essentially higher risks associated with non-compliance. - In order to be compliant, the first step is understanding when/where your people travel before the travel takes place to enable proactive compliance management.
